- Ella765Heaven Our third time at heavenly Vomo. An island which is luxurious, exceeds in service, food and beverage whilst also being the most perfect place for a family holiday. The island itself is absolute heaven. The best service from arrival with Jason, Tim and our divine nanny Vika and the best Bloody Mary we have ever had with Mika. The team is faultless. Seriously special. There is no place like Vomo. See you next year! Steve & Ella Clapham - 01/10/23read moreread less
- Olga KPARADISE It's been 3 months since we were at Vomo and not a week goes by without us reminiscing how perfect our stay was... We loved everything about Vomo and even though we had huge expectations going there, Vomo beat them on every score.
The island is MAGICAL - turquoise water, lush gardens, exotic flowers, wild fruit.. you name it! The island is huge and private, we spent days (and nights!) exploring it and we found something extraordinary every single day! We also had a blast exploring the beautiful underwater world of Vomo - Vomo's Ocean Play crew took us to different snorkerling spots every day to show us Vomo's rich fauna and flora!! I think something we didn't appreciate until we were there was that Vomo owns the entire island - so if it's windy on one side of the island the opposite side of the island has no waves... so you can snorkel every single day!
The food was divine - the menu was changed daily... and offers something for everyone - we wish we could eat it all. The produce was fresh, the flavours were punchy and the menus were interesting. I highly recommend giving the Rocks a try too! We loved the South East Asian-inspired menu which was perfect for the hot weather!
We had a hillside villa - because the beachfront villas were sold out.. and we couldnt be happier! the views were amazing from our villa, which was spacious and tastefully furnished.
We would also like to recognize and thank each and everyone at Vomo – including those amazing people who work behind the scenes and whom we never got to meet and thank in person – you made our stay special and magical. Everyone at Vomo is kind and generous and went above and beyond to make our stay and my 30th birthday unforgettable. we are forever grateful. See you next year! - 07/10/19read moreread less - Sierra Escape2nd stay and equally as amazing We just stayed at Vomo for the 2nd time - this time with our 2 children and had the most amazing week. The staff are incredible, the location sublime, and the service unrivalled. The team go above and beyond to make you feel part of the family and create an incredibly warm and friendly environment for everyone. We were fortunate to be there for the launch of a new menu and it was a fantastic dining experience. Easily some of the best food I’ve had in Fiji. Sunrise swims on the beach, and traditional Fijian night were two of many highlights we had. Vinaka vaka Levu Vomo Island, we will be back! - 01/03/23read moreread less
- davidP3883RPFrom the moment we arrived we were impressed. After a short 8 minute helicopter transfer from Nadi we arrived to a very warm welcome on Vomo and check-in formalities were kept very personal and very relaxed. The delicious fresh pineapple and ginger juice was a treat.
The Villas are really spacious and well appointed all with lovely views of the sea.
What really impressed us was the service and cuisine. The service was always prompt and friendly. the food was delicious, fresh and well presented. All food and non alcoholic beverages are included in the daily rate.
While family friendly there is a completely separate are for adults only called The Rocks with a magnificent pool, bar and restaurant. Amongst the best I have seen.
The Resort has a great tennis court, 9 hole golf course, gym and walking/hiking trails if you are after some exercise. - 17/09/19read moreread less - Stephanie MAmazing as ever! This was our second time on VOMO and it was just as amazing at it was 3yrs ago. We stayed for 5 nights in a Beachside Villa with our 6yr old and 2yr old. We also holidayed with my sister, her husband and their 1yr old who stayed in the villa next to ours. The villa was a perfect size for our family of 4. A cot was set up for our 2yr and the large day bed was made up for our 6yr old. The curtain divided their beds to ours and we all slept very soundly. The bathroom and wardrobe are very generous as is the front deck with deck chairs and table/chairs. You want to pinch yourself every time you look at the view from your villa -green lawn adorned with palm trees onto white sand onto turquoise water. It was the most magical family holiday we could have ever imagined. The staff - 01/11/22read moreread less
- CheezelFirst time to Vomo We travel to Fiji several times a year and on this trip we decided to try Vomo Island for the first time. We were not disappointed.
The transfer is smooth, convenient and sees you on the island in around one and a half hours from leaving the Nadi departure lounge. Vomo meets you, takes you on an easy just over 30 minute drive to Vuda Marina where a fast, clean boat is waiting to transport guests to the island. Alternatively, they recommend helicopter from Nadi International, or there is an option to use float plane (this sometimes requires customers to wait extended periods of time before transportation).
On arrival at Vomo the greeting is the normal, friendly Fijian welcome. At this stage I must point out the staff are friendly, relaxed and attentive. A special mention of Tim who we met on another resort years ago, great service, knowledge and help throughout our stay.
Our accommodation was on the hillside, a small but steep climb which was pleasant and offered nice water and foliage views. The room was well appointment and the cleaning done efficiently each day. Bathroom was spacious, decks lovely with nice sunbed and small table and chairs to enjoy. The bedroom was adequate and a curtain can be drawn across for guests with children. The fridge is well stocked with both nibbles and non-alcoholic, complimentary beverages. Loved the cookies given every couple of days to enjoy and the complimentary laundry service is appreciated as the chore of washing clothes becomes tiresome and difficult.
We enjoy walking and made the trip to the yoga platform and around most of the beaches. Didn’t get to Eastern Beach as the rocks were slippery and our footwear inadequate. Some of the climbs are steep and should be done early in the day, when the heat is not excessive. The views from vantage points are spectacular and the grounds on the island are beautifully maintained. There is a small library, TV room (TV’s were not in our room. Although we do not often watch we do like the option especially in inclement weather). Children appear well catered for with a kids club and many smiling staff members occupying the smaller guests. There is even golf for those so inclined.
Off island activities are the normal and we did thoroughly enjoy the picnic. It is on a small, steep island just off Vomo itself. Interesting rock formations, caves and although the beach is small it is beautiful and the water crystal clear. The packed lunch was lovely and the addition of table and chairs on the beach a nice touch.
“The Rocks” is an adults only area. The location is beautiful, the pool luke warm and the view gorgeous. The attention around the pool, by staff, is efficient and friendly and a small van/bus can transport quests if they do not wish to walk. The bar area is pleasant and there is a restaurant with lovely water views. The evening meal is offered, at this stage, twice per week. We ate here once and enjoyed the meal. However, we did not have a memorable lunch and preferred what was available in the main restaurant. This is obviously only our opinion but some more “ordinary” choices would have been appreciated as many were not to our taste. We do dine overseas, including Fiji, extensively.
The main restaurant offers breakfast and includes a cool room. We have not seen this at another resort and it was fantastic keeping food fresh and free of flies. Lovo evening was superb and the service good with attention to detail that is often lacking in Fijian resorts. The meals were good, but not the most memorable part of our stay (Lovo night had an exceptional and decadent dessert choice). A special mention to Zac whose incredible voice we have enjoyed in the past (at a resort we often frequent). Lovely to hear him again and enjoy one of the best voices we have come across in Fiji.
One of our main concerns, before this visit, was that Vomo might be too formal to suit us. Definitely this was not the case. They are relaxed and attentive, while obviously you can dress formally if you so wish, most people are there to step back, enjoy Fiji and the beach/holiday atmosphere. We will definitely be back to Vomo in the future and have no hesitation in recommending it to both families, individuals and couples. - 24/10/19read moreread less - Catherine FParadise found! Without a doubt VOMO Island is paradise on this earth. From the moment you arrive & you are pampered, spoilt & treated in such a warm & caring way by the gorgeous staff at Vomo island. I loved arriving & being greeted on the beach by the staff singing a welcome song. What a great way to start a stress free holiday in Paradise. Every part of the island is picture perfect. It’s honestly like a dream. White white sand & crystal clear waters with swaying palm trees. The biggest decisions of the day is what yummy food to eat or where to swim. You can choose to eat at a table set up right on the beach under a palm tree or at the Rocks Bar & watch a sensational sunset. Every meal was a taste sensation & I didn’t stay long enough to try all the sensational dishes on the menu. I am a coeliac & I was well & truly catered for at every meal. In fact I would get my own special menu, printed out just for me, listing my amazing food options. The staff spoke to me letting me know that they were aware that I was a coeliac & that they had full knowledge of my dietary requirement. I ate with complete safety. The staff of VOMO Island are beyond amazing. They take the time to get to know your name & they really do make you feel special. It’s hospitality at the next level but it’s so genuine & sincere. This warmth & welcome was extended to me from every single staff member I interacted with - from the GM Justin, to the restaurant staff, to the room cleaners & gardeners. Everyone. Of course I was in tears when I was leaving & the staff gathered to sing the goodbye song to me. I did not want to leave & I am planning a special occasion to return but this time I’ll come with my family. I’d love my adult children & my grandchildren to experience VOMO Island. I departed the island via helicopter & this was the perfect way to leave the island. I experienced the spectacular views of VOMO Island & I was at the airport in a very short time. I would highly recommend this to everyone. Thank you to everyone at VOMO Island. You more than exceeded my expectations. - 01/05/23read moreread less
- chrisgC8098PFAmazing island and fantastic team make relaxing in casual luxury that bit more special This was our second trip to Vomo and it was every bit as magic as the first. We stayed in a beachfront villa that was very comfortable and just a short stroll to the restaurant, pool and Ocean Play.
We arrived by boat and from the moment you step onto the sand of the beach you know that you are somewhere that's just a little bit special. The island is spectacular and the mostly Fijian team are attentive but never intrusive, making you feel like a guest in their home.
We stayed for 8 nights and really felt like we were part of the Vomo family. The staff were always helpful and as they got to know us made the effort to be that one step ahead, particularly with the kids. Our kids are 8 and 6 and were perhaps transitioning from Kids Village but still enjoyed spending a couple hours there most days to do the activities like hermit crab racing. But, thanks to the four hours of baby butler available each day, they were also able to head down to Ocean Play for beachside activities or simply to play in the main pool (all day long - thank Siko!). That gave my wife and I the actual and mental space to truly unwind and to wander down to The Rocks a couple of times for a sunset - or lunchtime - cocktail or two.
All meals are included, with lunch and dinner being three course affairs, should you wish. The menu changes daily and while we were there The Rocks Bar offered adults only dining three nights per week.
A definite highlight was the snorkelling trip to White Rock where we had the chance to swim with reef sharks. The small number of guests means that everyone becomes familiar and our kids easily made friends with others on the island. Highly recommend. - 23/04/22read moreread less - BHCJHQuality time away from it all Justin, Jason and the entire Vomo team make an incredible holiday experience to remember. As a family we have been to Fiji many times staying at various resorts but Vomo is easily the pick of the bunch. The beaches, coral and fish are nothing short of spectacular, with a very good dive team for scuba enthusiasts. The daily free guided snorkeling tour is a must. The food at the resort for both Adults and kids is excellent, certainly more creative and interesting than other Fijian resorts with quality choices aplenty. All non alcohol beverages are included which is a massive plus (mocktails and smoothies are so good) and high end coffee was unexpected but so welcomed. Our room was very well appointed, comfy beds and right on the beach, we have 3 boys and we all had plenty of space in the one bure. For kids - Vomo delivers, kids club is split on age which gives them a better experience in terms of activities and engagement. The ocean team have a great focus on knowledge and education and my kids particularly loved the turtle program. Having a marine biologist on hand was pretty cool. For adults - the highlight is the adult pool which is strictly for adults unlike some other Fijian resorts i have been to, the adjoining restaurant and bar is next level and the view is simply breathtaking - the food and sunset drinks is incredible and not to be missed. Vomo are very clever in finding separation between Adults and kids so you can get your own time when you want it. It is honestly pretty hard to fault the place, despite the resort being full it never felt even remotely crowded. The one thing i loved the most about Vomo is the space, gardens and beaches. Scattered throughout the islands are little nooks with hamocks, day beds in which you can really immerse yourself and escape the everyday. - 01/10/23read moreread less
- Corinne PDREAM COME TRUE I had been dreaming of going to Vomo for YEARS. We had lived in Fiji for a few years and Vomo was always on my wish list! We finally made it happen for my 40th and it totally exceeded my expectations. From the welcome to the island, the villa was just BEAUTIFUL, the food was exceptional, (at both the adults restaurant and the main restaurant). I wish I could list every single staff member because they were all so wonderful. We have a 5 and 7 year old and they LOVED kids club there. They actually begged us to stay longer whenever we went to collect them! They loved all the staff there and particularly enjoyed their time with Charles. We loved our adult time at the Rocks and always felt so well looked after everywhere we went on the island! I wish I could remember everyone's - 01/03/23read moreread less
